How Do You Care For Silk Wild Rags?
So you've found yourself a beautiful 100% Silk Wild Rag, and you're ready to wear but you’re afraid of wrinkling it? Don’t worry we can help with that. Here are a few tips to keeping your Wild Rag looking fresh and new.
#1 Place your silk wild rag in cold water with a mild detergent.
#2 Let it soak in the mixture (no more than 5 minutes).
#3 Swish the wild rag slowly and gently around.
#4 Rinse with fresh water.
#5 To help keep the wild rags hydrated and soft feel, use a fabric conditioner in the final rinse (or even a small amount of hair conditioner).
#6 Rinse well with cold and fresh water.
#7 Gently ball your wild rag scarf together to remove any excess moisture (wringing your silk out will damage its fibers so you avoid doing that motion). Then lay the wild rag flat or roll it in a towel to absorb any lingering moisture.
#8 Leave the wild rag flat and to dry.
If your Wild Rag just has a few wrinkles, we have tips for that as well!
The most common type of wrinkles in silk is creases. They're caused by folding your wild rag too tightly. The good news is that they can often be removed simply by steaming them out!
If you do not own a steamer, never fear! A simple hack is to drape your scarf over the back of a chair and hang a towel over it when you take a hot shower. The moisture from the steam will help to remove creases from your silk, making it look brand new again in no time at all.
If you can't steam the creases out, then here are a few tips on how to safely iron your silk: set the iron to low heat (or the silk setting), iron silk only once it’s dry and be sure to put a cloth between the silk and the iron, do not spray or wet silk while ironing, you may get water-stains.
